Head of Quality

A newly created position responsible for leading Operational Quality, Quality Assurance, Regulatory & Quality Systems, Analytical Services and Microbiology across Asahi Beverages Oceania.

Your Impact

As Head of Quality, you’ll shape and lead the quality agenda across Asahi Beverages Oceania, spanning Australia and New Zealand and covering both alcohol and non‑alcohol portfolios.
 
This is a pivotal leadership role, accountable for defining, embedding and continuously evolving our enterprise quality strategy. You’ll ensure robust governance, strong capability and a consistent approach to quality across all manufacturing sites and co‑manufacturing partners. Working closely with senior leaders, you’ll help build a strong quality culture where consumer‑relevant quality, safety and compliance are central to decision‑making.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the enterprise quality strategy and framework across Oceania, ensuring alignment with Asahi Global Quality standards and business priorities.
  • Establish strong quality governance, compliance and risk management, ensuring regulatory and food safety requirements are consistently met across all sites and partners.
  • Drive continuous improvement of quality management systems, including standardisation, digital enablement and best‑practice adoption.
  • Lead and develop a large, multi‑disciplinary quality function, building capability, engagement and a strong quality‑first culture.
  • Partner with senior leaders across Supply Chain and the broader business to embed Consumer Relevant Quality into everyday decision‑making.
  • Oversee supplier and co‑manufacturing quality assurance, strengthening external partnerships and performance.
  • Represent the Oceania region in global quality forums, contributing to the evolution of global standards and practices.

 

About You 

You’re a strategic, collaborative leader who brings credibility, influence and a strong sense of purpose to quality leadership. You balance big‑picture thinking with practical execution, and you’re comfortable operating in complex, matrixed environments.
You’ll bring:
  • Extensive senior leadership experience in Quality within FMCG, food & beverage or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading enterprise‑wide quality strategy, systems and governance across multiple sites or regions.
  • Strong expertise in food safety, regulatory compliance and quality management systems (e.g. HACCP, ISO).
  • A proven ability to lead, inspire and develop large, diverse teams.
  • Confidence engaging with executives, global stakeholders and external partners.
  • A collaborative mindset, with strong change leadership and continuous improvement capability.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry or a related discipline (postgraduate qualifications are well regarded).
